About this scholarship
Students entering the Bachelor of Education program at the Okanagan School of Education, UBC Okanagan, who are academically qualified and pursuing the Teaching Children (Kindergarten to Grade 5) pathway may be considered for this major entrance award. Preference is given to students from the Central Okanagan who have demonstrated volunteer or leadership skills, significant financial need, and a connection to Kiwanis International (as a member or relative of a member, past or present).
The award is $11,800.
It is made on the recommendation of the Okanagan School of Education. Applications are sent to BEd Teaching Children pathway students in summer.
The award comes from an endowment established by the Central Okanagan Kiwanis Community Service Society, on behalf of the Kiwanis Clubs of Kelowna.
