Outstanding members of the UBC Vancouver Thunderbirds Rowing Team may be considered for this memorial award.
One or more awards may range from $500 each up to the maximum allowed under athletic association regulations, funded through an endowment from friends and family in memory of Kitt Turney (1982-2019). Selection is made on the recommendation of the Head Coaches of the Men's and Women's Rowing teams and the Athletics Awards Committee; there is no separate application.
Kitt Turney (B.Sc. 2005, M.D. 2013) rowed for UBC from 2001 to 2005, helped the women's team win their first Canadian University Rowing Championship in 2004, and earned a bronze medal at the 2004 World Rowing Cup.
