For students completing fourth year of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at UBC Vancouver who have demonstrated empathy and a focus on patients in a professional practice course. Financial need may be considered.
Each award is ideally valued at not less than $2,000, from a pool totalling $4,650. Ken and Sheila McArthur established the endowment to celebrate empathy in the nurse-patient relationship, inspired by Ken's mother Elizabeth McArthur, a county nurse who graduated in 1917.
