About this scholarship
Juniata College students who wish to continue studying Spanish or French may apply for the Eagles Abroad Scholarship Program, which supports multiple study abroad experiences and global language engagement.
The program includes a post-freshman summer language immersion abroad for college credit. Recipients receive up to $5,000 per year credited to their Juniata account for a full academic year abroad at an approved site, or up to $2,500 for one semester abroad.
Apply by the January 1 deadline for optimal consideration.

- Apply to and be accepted by Juniata College by January 1 (standard admission application)
- Demonstrated interest in and commitment to Spanish or French language and culture (selection is NOT based on language proficiency)
- Be nominated by your admission counselor during the application reading process
- Selected semi-finalists (approx. 150) are invited to campus to interview with language department professors; finalists MUST interview with a professor to win
- Must apply to and be accepted by Juniata College through the standard admission application.
- Must be nominated by an admission counselor during application review.
- Demonstrate interest in and commitment to Spanish or French language and culture; language proficiency is not required.
- Semi-finalists and finalists must complete the required interview with language-department professors.
