About this scholarship
The Joyce L. Hegan Memorial Scholarship was created by Cathy Wilhm, retiring dean of LCC's Technical Careers Division, in memory of her mother Joyce, who returned to college as a divorced parent working full time to support four teenagers. The scholarship provides financial assistance to Lansing Community College students who are unemployed, under-employed, or refugees seeking to improve their lives through education. Students apply through the General Scholarship Application due January 31. Selection uses donor criteria and the personal statement sections of the LCC scholarship application reviewed by foundation staff and community reviewers.
