John Oliver Piercy Memorial Scholarship

Students from northern or central Vancouver Island (School Districts 69 to 72, 84, and 85) entering UBC Vancouver are eligible for this scholarship, with preference given to students entering directly from Grade 12. One $1,800 scholarship is awarded.

The scholarship honours John Piercy, Associate Registrar at UBC at the time of his death in 1982, and was made available by his family, friends, and colleagues in tribute to his special concern for the welfare of students. Born and educated on Vancouver Island, he joined UBC following a career in the Canadian Armed Forces.
