John H Mitchell Memorial Scholarship

Open to UBC Vancouver students entering the penultimate or final year of a baccalaureate program, the first year of graduate studies, or students in the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, or Law. Candidates are expected to have good academic standing and demonstrated achievement in sports and participation in student and community activities.

The $10,000 scholarship is selected by a special committee from among candidates nominated by faculties for the Sherwood Lett Memorial Scholarship. No separate application is required.

The award was established by the family of John Hardie Mitchell, a 1924 Faculty of Arts graduate who devoted sixty-five years to British Columbia's stevedoring industry.
