About this scholarship
The John and Virginia Summa Scholarship is an endowed Northwest Foundation award honoring a multi-generational Bearcat family and providing one thousand dollars annually to a Northwest Missouri State University student in the Melvin D. and Valorie G. Booth School of Business. Rebecca Summa Sullivan established the fund with a twenty-five-thousand-dollar pledge to support future business leaders at Northwest. Recipients are selected through the Standard Scholarship Application in CatPAWS each year when the application opens September 1 and closes February 1. The scholarship reflects the Summa family's long ties to Maryville and Northwest dating to the 1940s.
