About this scholarship
Outstanding domestic students entering UBC Vancouver directly from secondary school or transferring from another post-secondary institution who demonstrate financial need and would not be able to attend without assistance may apply. Academic merit plus leadership, community service, and recognized extracurricular achievement are considered.
Renewable entrance awards totalling $7,200 come from a Jiang family endowment and may renew for up to three additional years with continued good academic standing, or until the first undergraduate degree is obtained. Applicants must submit a UBC Entrance Award application; the Centennial Scholars Entrance Award Committee adjudicates awards.
The Jiang family established the endowment inspired by Jiang Minde's philanthropic work supporting education in the Fuyang district of China.
