About this scholarship
The James A. Chin, Jr. Memorial Award is an endowed University of Rochester prize applied toward tuition for a continuing undergraduate who exemplifies honor and integrity, participates in extracurricular and community outreach activities, and has overcome adversity to reach their goals. The Chin family established the fund in tribute to James Chin, a 1993 Rochester graduate active in student government and fraternity leadership. Current applicants must meet Undergrad Continuing Student Scholarship requirements, be U.S. residents, demonstrate financial need through the Financial Aid Office, and show active University involvement through a separate spring application.
