About this scholarship
The Jacob F. Opel Memorial Scholarship honors Jacob F. Opel, a Grand View accounting honors graduate and student leader. Two two-thousand-dollar scholarships are awarded annually: one to a nursing student and one to a business student, both of whom must be sophomores, juniors, or seniors and U.S. citizens who graduated from Des Moines Public Schools. Applicants submit an online application with cumulative GPA, major, high school attended, and a one-page introduction for the donor by December 13. Scholarship funds must be used for Grand View tuition. Recipients grant permission for information to be shared with selection committees and university public relations.
