About this scholarship
Open to two students in science education who demonstrate excellence in teaching secondary science, with at least some experience at the junior secondary level. Awards are made at the end of the extended practicum.
John T. (Jack) Young, Professor Emeritus of Science Education, endowed two prizes of $400 each. Prof. Young was an outstanding science teacher in B.C. whose career extended over 56 years.
The Department of Science Education makes the recommendation. There is no separate student application.
