Open to third- or fourth-year student athletes on any varsity team at UBC Vancouver who demonstrate an exceptional work ethic, leadership and teamwork. Preference is given to Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts students. Awards totalling $2,000 are available annually, ranging from a minimum of $500 up to the maximum allowable under athletic association regulations. There is no student application; the awards are made on the recommendation of the Athletics Awards Committee.
The awards are funded by IT/IQ Tech Recruiters, a Vancouver-based technology and IT recruitment firm founded in 2002, in the hope that recipients will pursue opportunities in the professional sales industry.
