International Major Entrance Scholarship (Okanagan)

For outstanding international students entering undergraduate programs at UBC Okanagan directly from secondary school on a Canadian study permit. Recipients show exceptional academic achievement, intellectual promise, and strong extracurricular and community involvement.

For the 2026/27 academic year, IMES awards are valued at $10,000 to $25,000 per year. Scholarships are renewable for up to three additional years of study or until the first undergraduate degree is completed, whichever is shorter, provided the student continues to meet scholarship standing and remains an international student in Canada.

No separate application: students who apply to UBC by the admissions deadline are automatically considered. Made on the recommendation of the International Student Initiative Office; not available to students nominated for need-and-merit-based International Scholars awards.
