About this scholarship
Outstanding international students entering UBC Okanagan directly from secondary school or from a post-secondary institution may be considered for these tuition-component awards. Candidates must demonstrate financial need. Priority is given to those with leadership skills, student affairs involvement, community service, first-generation learner status, or diverse lived and socioeconomic backgrounds. Candidates must demonstrate prior commitment to social justice, human wellness, sustainability, or related areas through artistic expression or community engagement. Consideration is restricted to students nominated by the educational institution they are attending.
Awards range in value up to the full cost of the student's program and living costs, depending on the applicant's financial circumstances. Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years of undergraduate study or to degree completion (whichever is less), provided the recipient maintains award standing and student authorization status in Canada. The International Student Initiative recommends recipients.
