About this scholarship
The Institute for Public Democracy Scholarship at Drake University supports entering first-year Public Democracy Scholars who want to grow as civic leaders through democratic engagement programming. Scholars receive a renewable five thousand dollar tuition scholarship each year of their undergraduate degree. Applicants need Drake admission, a minimum 3.5 high school GPA, and a separate Public Democracy Scholar application by January 29. The four-year program includes immersive democratic engagement experiences, funded travel to study current issues, faculty and practitioner mentorship, and leadership opportunities through the Institute's summer academies.
