About this scholarship

Full-time undergraduate or graduate students at North American institutions enrolled in design, architecture, or visual merchandising programs may apply for the PAVE Student Visionary Award.

One award of $7,500 is given, plus Gala travel and accommodations support.

Submit four 11-by-17-inch blind presentation boards as PDFs (no name or school identifiers), a current transcript, and an application through PAVE's Submittable portal. Projects should address human-centered design, sustainability, inclusivity, cultural awareness, or contemporary design themes.

  • Current official or unofficial transcript
  • Application through the PAVE Submittable portal
  • Submit four (4) 11" x 17" presentation boards in landscape (horizontal) PDF format showcasing pre-existing design work
  • Each board must include a project title, project imagery, and the written response to its assigned prompt
  • Project must address one of these design themes: Human-centered Design, Inclusive/Universal Design, Cultural Awareness/DEI, Contemporary/Reactive Design, or Sustainability/Adaptive Reuse
  • Submit a current transcript (official or unofficial) to verify enrollment
  • Complete the application form via the PAVE Submittable portal
  • Boards must NOT include name, school, or any identifying information (blind judging)
  • Open to current undergraduate and graduate students in design, architecture, or visual merchandising programs
  • 2026 deadline: October 21, 2026, 11:59 PM ET / 8:59 PM PT
  • Boards must be blind: they may not include the applicant's name, school, or other identifying information.
  • Each board must include a project title, project imagery, and the written response to its assigned prompt.
  • Project must address human-centered design, inclusive/universal design, cultural awareness/DEI, contemporary/reactive design, or sustainability/adaptive reuse.
