About this scholarship
Indiana resident high school seniors applying for admission to any of the seven Indiana University campuses may be nominated for the Adam W. Herbert Presidential Scholars Program, with preference given to National Merit Scholars with leadership experience.
Scholarship amounts vary by campus and are renewable for four years. A minimum of 30 incoming freshmen are selected annually.
Submit your IU admissions application by November 1. Your campus will nominate candidates based on your application. No separate scholarship application is required. The program is funded by the Lilly Endowment.

- One letter of recommendation (recommender cannot be a family member)
- Must first complete the Honors College admission/Chancellor's Scholarship application before applying
- Indiana residents only
- Apply to IU by November 1 of senior year; recommendation deadline 5 p.m. November 15
- No separate scholarship application is required.
- Scholarship is renewable for four years.
