About this scholarship
One-time scholarship for incoming freshmen and transfer students at Northern Illinois University whose parent or parents graduated from NIU. Qualifying students receive one thousand dollars in their first year when enrolled full time. There is no separate application or deadline; students are automatically considered when they apply for admission. The award is given in addition to any merit scholarship for which the student qualifies. Recipients must confirm enrollment at NIU to receive the award applied to their student account.
