About this scholarship
The Hunter R. Rawlings III Cornell Presidential Research Scholars program supports about 45 entering freshmen and select rising juniors across all Cornell colleges who demonstrate superior academic potential and intellectual curiosity for sustained faculty-mentored research. Scholars admitted as freshmen access up to $8,000 through a Research Support Account for research activities, conference travel, supplies, and at least one full-time summer research experience; rising junior admits receive up to $5,000. Rawlings Scholars with demonstrated financial need receive up to $4,000 per year in scholarship aid that increases grant funding and reduces self-help components. Selection occurs during admissions with no separate application. Scholars maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA, participate in research each semester starting spring of freshman year, and present at the Senior Expo.
