Health Care Practicum Funding Program

For students completing practicums in designated northern Alberta health-care centres and programs listed on the Alberta Health Services application. Funding may cover travel to and from a community, commuting between northern communities, and accommodation, up to $1,200 for placements of 0-3 months, $1,800 for 3-6 months, and $2,500 for 6+ months. Approval is not automatic; funds are limited and claims require receipts.

Apply to Alberta Health Services between April 1 and February 15 each year. The practicum must fall between April 1 and March 31 of the same year.
