Harold And Gertrude Freeman Scholarship In French

McMaster University students enrolled in Level 2 or above of an Honours French program who are confirmed as travelling abroad as part of Humanities Study Abroad may receive the Harold and Gertrude Freeman Scholarship in French. Selection is by the Department of French for the highest accomplishment in French language, literature, and culture. Travel and exchange awards are not available to students in their graduating term.

Two $1,000 awards are typically available.

Established in 1981 by members of the Class of '43 as a tribute to Harold A. and Gertrude Freeman; Professor Freeman was honorary president of the class and a long-time teacher of French at McMaster.
