About this scholarship
The Guttman Transfer Scholarship, funded by a $9 million endowment from the Stella and Charles Guttman Foundation, supports high-achieving CUNY community college students transferring to CUNY senior colleges. Guttman Scholars receive up to $4,000 over two academic years ($1,000 per semester for four semesters), recognition at an annual awards ceremony, invitation to speak to associate-degree students, and designation as a Guttman Scholar. Starting Fall 2026, eligible students may transfer to any CUNY senior college; previously the award was limited to Brooklyn, City, Hunter, Lehman, and Queens Colleges. Eligible students receive an application link in their CUNYfirst Student Center To Do list each spring.
