About this scholarship
The Grant A. Young Scholarship supports BYU undergraduates pursuing biological or physical science degrees in astronomy, chemistry, geology, or physics who demonstrate scholastic ability with at least a 3.5 GPA. Applicants submit a statement describing their studies and life circumstances through the college scholarship application due February 28. Recipients are encouraged to contribute to the fund in the future when their circumstances allow. The award is administered by the College of Computational, Mathematical, and Physical Sciences alongside other specialty and need-based college scholarships.
