Graduate students registered in a UBC Vancouver graduate program administered by the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies are eligible once per degree program; part-time students qualify. The fund supports presenting a paper or poster at an academic conference, participating in or performing an artistic work, or paying open access publishing charges for an accepted peer-reviewed publication.
Eligible applicants receive a $500 lump-sum award; as of 2023, receipts are no longer required.
Applications are submitted by email to the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies after the travel or publication has taken place, with proof of the presentation or the open access publishing charge. There is no submission deadline; applications are accepted at any time.
The Graduate Student Travel Award awards $500.
