About this scholarship

The Golden City Scholarship helps offset law school costs for Washburn University School of Law J.D. students who do not qualify for Kansas in-state tuition or the Interstate Tuition Waiver Program. Eligible out-of-state students receive $1,500 per semester for a maximum of six semesters, totaling $9,000 over the course of their J.D. program. Students who establish Kansas residency after six months of continuous living in the state become eligible for resident tuition and are no longer eligible for this award. Students receiving in-state tuition through ITWP participation in Colorado, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, or Texas are also ineligible. No separate application is required beyond admission and enrollment as a full-time J.D. student.
