About this scholarship
The Godbold Family Foundation Scholarship helps academically qualified, financially needy entering first-year Georgia Tech students from specific counties in South Carolina, Florida, North Carolina, or Tennessee meet their educational costs. Established in 1999 by Francis S. Godbold and family, the program provides one hundred percent of demonstrated financial need through a combination of institute gift aid, the Godbold Scholarship, and a $2,500 work-study opportunity. Candidates must complete the regular financial aid process, be on-time applicants, demonstrate financial need, and achieve an SAT score of 1500 or higher on math and verbal sections combined. Final selection follows an interview process with preference for students whose estimated family contribution is less than half the cost of attendance. The award renews up to eight semesters based on academic achievement, need, and fund availability.
