About this scholarship
The George Washington Carver Scholastic Leadership Scholarship awards up to one hundred full-tuition scholarships annually to incoming U.S. citizen or permanent resident first-year students at Iowa State University who exemplify resilience, academic excellence, and commitment to underserved communities. Applicants need a minimum 3.70 high school GPA, must apply through OneApp by February 1 with FAFSA filed by the priority deadline, and submit essays demonstrating commitment to academic success, improving the human condition, and advancing opportunities for underserved populations. Recipients attend mandatory orientation and UST courses, complete 24 new credits annually, and maintain a 2.50 GPA. Full-tuition recipients cannot stack Loyal, Forever, True, Academic Achievement, Expedition, Generations, or Science Bound awards.
