George Scott Jr. Memorial Scholarship

High school seniors from Lubbock County, Texas, who plan to attend Texas Tech University may apply for the George Scott Jr. Memorial Scholarship through the Community Foundation of West Texas. Preference is given to African American students.

Award amounts vary. Scholarship funds are paid directly to Texas Tech University and may be used for tuition, fees, and books.

Applicants complete and submit the foundation scholarship application with required supporting documents. The scholarship was established by Kent Hance in memory of his friend George Scott Jr.
