Outstanding members of the UBC Vancouver Thunderbirds men's and women's ice hockey teams in any year of study who demonstrate financial need may be considered.
One or more awards of varying amounts may range from $500 each up to the maximum allowed under athletic association regulations, funded through a gift from the Thursday Night Hockey group in memory of George Gordon (1952-2016). Selection is made on the recommendation of the Men's and Women's Ice Hockey Head Coaches and the Athletics Awards Committee; there is no separate application.
The Thursday Night Hockey group plays recreational hockey at the Father David Bauer Arena and supports the UBC Thunderbirds ice hockey teams.
