About this scholarship
Western Michigan University doctoral students in good standing who are enrolled in Doctoral Dissertation 7300 may apply regardless of discipline. Research may address aging and elderly populations directly or apply more broadly, such as disease progression, pharmacological treatments, or oral history projects involving older adults. Both qualitative and quantitative work is welcome.
One $1,000 prize is awarded annually.
Your advisor, graduate program advisor, or department chair must provide a letter of support through the online application.
The George and Beatrice Fisher Gerontology Dissertation Prize recognizes dissertations that advance understanding of aging and issues affecting elderly populations.
