About this scholarship

Undergraduate and graduate students worldwide may submit a proposal for the Future Without Speciesism Award from PETA.

Prizes range from $1,000 to $10,000 based on the workability, practicality, and promise of the proposed alternative. Applicants retain ownership and may patent their inventions.

Submit a detailed proposal or prototype for a patentable, animal-free invention that replaces a specific area of animal exploitation. Ideas must be marketable as viable alternatives. Students may apply individually or as teams.

PETA awards prizes to students who develop innovative alternatives to animal use in industry and research.
