Frank Read Thunderbird Rowing Award

Outstanding members of the UBC Vancouver Thunderbird Rowing Team in any year of study who have maintained good academic standing may be considered.

Awards totalling $16,900 are made available, each ranging from a minimum of $500 to the maximum allowed under athletic association regulations.

There is no separate application. Recommendations are made by the rowing coaches.

The awards are endowed in memory of Frank Read, a beloved UBC and Olympic rowing coach who proved that excellence in sport was a realistic objective for Canadians.
