Florida resident first-year students admitted to Florida State University are automatically considered for the Vires Scholarship for rigorous academic achievement. The award totals $16,000 over eight semesters ($2,000 at the start of each fall and spring term), or $4,000 per year, and may stack with other merit aid and Bright Futures where applicable. Renewal typically requires enrollment in 15 credits per semester and a 3.0 GPA.
