About this scholarship
For MD students at UBC whose medical research projects are funded through the Faculty of Medicine Summer Student Research Program (SSRP).
The program pays stipends of $3,200 for eight weeks of full-time research (first-year MD students) or $1,600 for four weeks (third-year MD students). All SSRP project applications are automatically considered for every applicable funding source, including this award.
Awards are made on the recommendation of the Faculty of Medicine.
The award is endowed by a bequest from the late Florence E. Heighway to support students taking medical training at UBC.
