About this scholarship
The First Citizen Award encourages Native American students to enroll and complete a four-year degree at Eastern Oregon University. The endowed foundation scholarship renews up to four years with the option to increase while eligibility is maintained. Applicants must be undergraduates seeking their first degree, enroll in at least twelve credit hours per term, provide documentation of tribal or native corporation membership, and maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA. Recipients submit a thank-you letter, demonstrate active involvement in one university-recognized service project each year, maintain contact with the Native American Program coordinator, and utilize MOSAIC Center services. Apply through the EOU Foundation scholarship portal.
