Faculty Women’s Club Maebritte Jeffels Scholarship

A student in the UBC M.D. program who has demonstrated an aptitude for and interest in orthopaedic medicine may be considered.

The scholarship is $1,100. It is awarded on the recommendation of the Department of Orthopaedics in the Faculty of Medicine. There is no separate application.

Maebritte Jeffels endowed the scholarship through the Faculty Women's Club. She became an orthopaedic nurse in England, served in a clinic during World War II, and later served as President of the Faculty Women's Club from 1961 to 1962.
