About this scholarship

The Edward L. Blackshear Scholarship is named for Principal Edward L. Blackshear and assists Texas resident sophomores at Prairie View A&M University who demonstrate financial need. Eligible students must have earned at least thirty but no more than fifty-nine credit hours, maintain a minimum two point five cumulative GPA, enroll full time, and meet satisfactory academic progress standards. Applicants must submit the general scholarship application by the deadline and have a verified FAFSA on file. Awards of up to two thousand dollars for one academic year are limited and granted first-come, first-served until available Presidential Scholarship Program funds are exhausted.
