About this scholarship

Undergraduate sophomores, juniors, or seniors of any major at nonprofit public or private colleges in Los Angeles County who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and reside in the county may apply.

Recipients are chosen on financial need, academic achievement, and community service or leadership. Awards range up to $5,000 per year depending on institution type and are renewable up to three additional years while eligibility is maintained.

The Ebell/Flint Scholarship Fund has supported undergraduates in Los Angeles County who have completed their first year of studies for over a century.

  • AI policy: essays must be written by the student in their own authentic voice; AI-generated essay content may result in disqualification
  • All applicants who qualify may be invited to an in-person interview
