For the most outstanding general surgery resident at UBC.
The prize is $950, endowed by the family of W. H. Sutherland, M.D., D.M., F.R.C.S.(C), former Chief of Surgery at Shaughnessy and St. Vincent's hospitals and Clinical Professor in the Faculty of Medicine.
There is no separate application. The Faculty of Medicine selects the recipient on recommendation.
