About this scholarship

First Nations, Inuit, or Métis women of Canada who are UBC Vancouver varsity athletes in any year of study may be considered, with preference for members of the women's rugby team.

One or more annual awards are available, each worth at least $500 up to the maximum allowed under athletic association regulations. The awards are endowed by Dr. Tsnomot Bradley Baker.

Recipients are selected on the recommendation of the Athletics Awards Committee. There is no separate application.

Brad Baker is a proud member of the Squamish Nation and a longtime educator who has been active in rugby, lacrosse, and soccer. He established this award to support Indigenous women striving for excellence in athletics and academics.
