About this scholarship
Open to physicians pursuing surgical specialist education and training who will practice within Alberta Health Services upon completion. Priority fields include orthopedics and orthopedic subspecialties, general surgery, urology, ophthalmology, gynecology, plastics, ear/nose/throat, general practitioner surgery, anesthesia, and general practitioner anesthesia, based on regional specialist needs.
Scholarships of up to $15,000 are awarded. Applicants must fulfill an identified need within Alberta Health Services, demonstrate commitment and high performance, and provide a detailed budget showing financial need.
Apply with a cover letter, resume, two letters of reference, curriculum or course outline, and supporting grades. Recipients may sign a one-year return-for-service agreement with Alberta Health Services.
