About this scholarship
The Dr. Paul Shimizu Memorial Scholarship Fund helps NWHSU recruit and retain qualified students for the Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Dr. Paul Shimizu, a 1947 NWHSU graduate, served in the U.S. Army during World War II and earned the Bronze Star and Congressional Medal of Honor before maintaining a successful Minneapolis-area chiropractic practice until age seventy-seven. NWHSU awards this donor-funded scholarship competitively each term to chiropractic students who apply through the donor scholarship application with required essays. Incoming applicants must be accepted by the term deadline, and recipients may hold only one donor scholarship per term under NWHSU policy.
