Domestic UBC Vancouver track and field and/or cross country student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional athletic ability, leadership, integrity, and financial need may be considered. Preference is given to athletes who have promoted health and well-being in their communities.
One or more awards of varying amounts may range from $500 each up to the maximum allowed under athletic association regulations, funded through a gift from the Achilles International Track & Field Society. Selection is made on the recommendation of the Men's and Women's Track & Field and Cross Country Head Coaches and the Athletics Awards Committee; there is no separate application.
The award is named in honour of Olympians Dr. Doug Clement (M.D. 1959) and Diane Clement, founding members of the Achilles International Track & Field Society who helped establish the Vancouver Sun Run in 1985.
