About this scholarship
California college sophomores or juniors who have completed at least one year of college and will not graduate before June may apply for Donald A. Strauss Scholarships by proposing an innovative student-generated public service project.
Up to 15 recipients each receive $15,000 to fund their project. Submit application materials including a project proposal, budget, timeline, personal essay, transcript, and two letters of recommendation by February 9.
Selected recipients attend a mandatory meeting and serve as Strauss Ambassadors on campus. The foundation, established in 1997, promotes public service in preparing future leaders.
