About this scholarship
For outstanding international students from developing countries entering UBC Vancouver directly from secondary school who have achieved academic excellence under difficult circumstances and would be unable to pursue post-secondary education without assistance.
Need-based awards covering tuition and related costs. Value depends on financial circumstances. Renewable for up to three additional years of undergraduate study or to degree completion, whichever is less, with satisfactory academic standing, a valid Canadian study permit, and continued financial need.
Candidates are nominated by secondary schools or by international, community-based, and non-governmental organizations. Apply through UBC's International Scholars Program. Awards are made on the recommendation of a university selection committee with community input.
Endowed in honour of Dr. Donald A. Wehrung, founding Executive Director of UBC's International Student Initiative (1996-2008).
