Doctors of BC Presidential Scholars Award in Medicine

For outstanding students entering the UBC MD undergraduate program. Criteria include demonstrated academic and leadership achievements in the arts, community, athletics, or school. Preference is given to students whose community involvement or volunteerism emphasizes health care.

Renewable awards of $10,000 per year are offered through an endowment established by Doctors of BC, with a portion matched by UBC, for tuition, fees, and textbooks. Subject to continued scholarship standing, awards renew for up to three additional years of study or until the MD degree is obtained, whichever is shorter.

There is no separate application for the award itself. Entrance consideration is through the Faculty of Medicine recommendation process.
