Doctoral Recruitment Fellowship

For incoming UBC Vancouver doctoral students recruited by a new tenure-track Assistant Professor who offers the fellowship to a student they will supervise or co-supervise. The student must start within five years of the supervisor's faculty appointment and be undertaking their first doctoral-level degree.

Fellows receive an annual $30,000 stipend for four years from the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, plus a minimum $18,000 fifth-year funding package from the supervisor, department, or Faculty (awards, teaching assistantships, and/or research assistantships). Support continues for five years or until program completion, whichever comes first, subject to satisfactory academic progress.

Made on the recommendation of the recipient's graduate program in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. UBC notes the DRF program and future allocations are under review.
