About this scholarship
Incoming UC Irvine freshmen are automatically considered for the Directors' Scholarship based on their UC application. Eligible recipients are domestic out-of-state or international students who are U.S. citizens, eligible non-citizens, or F1 visa holders.
Distinguished scholars receive a monetary honorarium with varying amounts per financial aid regulations, plus an on-campus housing guarantee for two years. The scholarship renews for one additional year with a minimum 2.70 cumulative GPA and 12 units per quarter.
Apply for fall admission by November 30. No separate scholarship application is required.

- Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible non-citizen, or non-citizen with an F1 visa
- Must be a domestic out-of-state resident or international student (California residents are NOT eligible)
- Awarded automatically based on comprehensive review of the admissions application (test scores and grades); no additional materials required or considered
- Renewal: maintain minimum 12 units enrolled/completed each quarter and a minimum cumulative 2.70 GPA
