Derek Hughes Scholarship Program

College sophomores, juniors, and seniors enrolled full time in an insurance or business-related undergraduate program with a 3.0 overall GPA or 3.25 major GPA may apply.

Up to 30 scholarships of $5,000 are awarded annually, split as $2,500 for fall and $2,500 for spring. Applicants need risk management or insurance coursework or industry experience and must plan to work in the surplus lines industry.

Submit a resume, unofficial transcripts, and a 500-word essay through the WSIA Education Foundation online application. Recipients may also receive professional development benefits including symposium support and industry networking.
